We were lucky enough to get passes to the story and train ride of the A Train to Christmas Town on the Cape Cod railway. MY opinions are my own. I am sad to write this review is NOT a positive one. This is something that does not often happen. I have ridden this railway before with GLOWING reviews. I know they try hard but this event was not up to par for what I now they can put on.
We arrived at the station for the 5:30 train and boarded rather quickly . The conductor will welcome you aboard and punch your ticket as you find your seat in warm, decorated cars.
We then all heard heartwarming tale of Janice, a little girl who looks forward to riding the Train to Christmas Town every year with her brother and Grandmother. This year is a little different though! Accompanied by a bag full of surprises, woodland friends and jolly elves, Janice relives happy memories as she rides the train to Christmas Town once again.
FROM THE WEBSITE: The conductor will welcome you aboard and punch your ticket as you find your seat in warm, decorated cars. Meet Bumblebee the Polar Bear, Wabash the Squirrel, even Zephyr the depot cat and laugh along with Elves while they’re busy serving cookies and cocoa, and leading guests in singing Christmas carols. Upon arrival at Christmas Town, Santa climbs on board and walks through the cars greeting each child with holiday cheer and his signature “Ho, Ho, Ho”!
NEGATIVE NOTE: We were only able to see BUMBLEBEE in our car 1 time and he ignored my sons high 5. The elves were teenagers and didn’t show as much effort as the middle aged elves in other cars or even older conductors. They also never sang carols we also had to hear a conductor talk to an elf about his LACK of work he was doing and he needed to step up his game. The elf sulked and stood in middle of the car and didn’t clean up trash leaving passenger to do so as they left. They also said that we would sign a song where we had a blow a whistle that song was never played. LASTLY the holiday songs played where the same 4 songs on a loop the whole ride up and back .
POSITIVE NOTE: When we got to Christmas Town Santa boarded the train. Santa was a joy and very kind and took his time with each child and family who wanted a picture. He gave each child a wooden whistle too.
